| Welcome to Crane Herefords,We are located in North Central IL., just a few miles north of the crossroads of Interstate 80 and Interstate 39. We have recently celebrated 50 years of raising registered Hereford cattle. The Cranes have long been involved with farming and livestock with the home farm being Homesteaded 1868. Four generations of Cranes have enjoyed farming and working with Herefords. It started with Wilfred and Janet selling their dairy cattle and buying a herd of horned Herefords cows in 1956. Today Crane Herefords consists of 65 head of registered females and a few commercial cows used in the E.T. program. What started out as mainly a horned herd, polled genetics were introduced 1997 with the purchase of a polled bull. We believe in using both horned and polled genetics to produce the best HEREFORD possible. With today's cattle being at an all time high in quality, we choose from both to create a superior Hereford for the pasture and the show ring. The family has had success at both state and national levels and are proud of what the herd has to offer with bulls and females. |
